Happy world photography day to all the Shutterbugs

~*Eternal View*~
(City Palace@Udaipur, Rajasthan, India)
Time to get your cameras out, happy snappers, as Friday 19 August is World Photography Day.

World Photography Day originates from the invention of the Daguerreotype, a photographic processes developed by Louis Daguerre.  On January 9, 1839, The French Academy of Sciences announced the daguerreotype process. A few months later, on August 19, 1839, the French government announced the invention as a gift “Free to the World.”

Another photographic processes, the Calotype, was also invented in 1839 by William Fox Talbot (it was announced in 1841). Together, the invention of both the Daguerreotype and Calotype mark 1839 as the year that photography was invented.

C for Cernuous

~*Cernuous Beauty*~

Everyday a new flower is born
Its destiny unknown
Some will grow and flourish
Some will wilt and die
A flower came into my life recently
A flower like no other
On that is beautiful in every way
Not perfect
But what flower is
My flower has a dark past
It has been hurt and stepped on
I fear it is wilting and dieing
The rain drops of life weigh heavy on its pedals
But I know my flower is strong
Much stronger then most know
Water and sun light is what it needs
Along with a helping hand it again breaths
In no time at all it will stand tall
The past being just that
It will live on and grow
Once again happy and healthy
My new flower will start a new of its own
And never again be a lone.

B for Blaue Blume

~*Blaue Blume*~
(Blue Flower)

Against the field it grows, gritty,
and I look down, filled with pity
at a green sprout, beauty its shield.
It grows, gritty, against the field

In a concrete fissure, it grows.
Below the sun it will repose;
through cyclic time it will venture.
It grows in a concrete fissure.

Blue’s the color, blue is the view,
grey is the sky as it’s askew.
It grows taller, life span smaller.
Blue is the view; blue’s the color
.

A for Angelic

~*Angelic*~

Lay down on your pillow
and turn the lights down low
let me take you to the garden
where the passion flower grows

Close your eyes and enter dreams
as love's emotion sets the scene
and glitters through the garden
where the passion flower grows

Touch the tender petals
of the flower as she grows
a tentative endeavor
as your feelings overflow

Let me draw you to the place
where ecstasy can be embraced
the beauty of the garden
where the passion flower grow.

Z for Zesty

~*Zesty*~
(zesty= full of zest, energetic, active)
There are treasures in life,
But owners are few
Of money and power
To buy things brand new.
And feel regal too,
Yet you can be wealthy
If you will just look
For the treasures in you.
are not hard to find
These treasures in life
When you look in your heart,
Your soul, and your mind.
For when you are willing
To share what’s within,
Your fervent search
for riches will end.
The joy and the laughter,
the smile that you bring;
The heart unafraid
to love and to sing;
The hand always willing
to help those in need;
Ones quick to reach out,
to labor and fee.
So thank you for sharing
these great gifts inside;
The caring, the cheering,
the hug when one cried.
Thanks for the energy,
encouragement too,
And thank you for sharing
The treasures in you.

Y for Yellow

~*Yellow*~

Hunger conquers. Love considers.
As life concedes and pain bewilders.
Anguish strips us of our shielding.
Cold. Relentless. Ever-wielding.
Yet we let the anguish pass
Forget, and hide amongst the mass.
Even I who swore to never
Seek cold comfort, cruel forever;
Even I found yellow rest,
In the days upon my nest,
Long descended from the sky,
Angry when the night asked why.

X for Xanthous

~*Xanthous*~

One yellow flower
waves in the open fields
bowing according to the tune
among the sea of green;
lone yellow flower has no one to blame
and it seeks none to praise
for it knows all life comes in
when the conditions are right;
lone yellow flower knows
death comes in like the wind;
lone yellow flower
is never alone.

W for Warmth

~*Warmth of Colors*~

When the sun finds its way
Behind a dark cloud
And that’s where it seems to stay
And won’t come back out

When the rain just seems to pour
And there is no end in sight
And a storm leads to one more
And many sleepless nights
It’s so good to know
I’ve got the warmth of a friend
A safe place to go
Again and again.

V for Vivacious

~*Vivacious*~

I vow to live today;
As night turns day and day gives life,
I vow to give today.

I vow to love today;
As the hands of love unlock the cage,
I'll free a love today.
I vow to dream today;
As the reveries flow through my soul,
I'll be a stream today.

I vow to play today;
As the child plays on without regret,
I'll seize the day today.

I vow to shine today;
As the sun shines on despite the rain,
I'll take a chance today.

Umbraged Sky

~*Umbraged Sky*~

Watching, Waiting,
Willful, Willing,
Wanting, Wailing,
Waning, Staining
Hydroplaning
Hoping, Joking,
Barely floating,
Eating, Meeting,
Loosing, Boozing,
Rarely choosing ,
Waiting for
the rain.

U for Umber

~*Umber*~
(Umber: Brownish Red)

Red is a sunset
Blazing and bright.
Red is feeling brave
With all your might.
Red is a sunburn
A spot on your nose.
Sometimes red, is a red red rose.
Red squiggles out when you cut your hand.
Red is a brick
And the sounds of a band.
Red is hotness
You get inside
When you’re embarrassed
And want to hide.
Fire-cracker, fire-engine
Fire-flicker red –
And when you’re angry
Red runs through your head.

T for Tranquil

~*Tranquil*~

Sitting here alone, lights a glow
No need to hide, the feelings show
I'm at peace, your pictures burnt
A lesson here I have learned

Out of the trance, I'll never cry

Admitting that love can surely die
I've won the war, now you are still
Never again will I be tranquil.

Symbol of Love and Togetherness

~*Symbol of Love and Togetherness*~

Despite the presence of many religions and their custom one common ritual that is celebrated in all the religions of India is the ceremony of Mehandi. Mehandi ceremony is celebrated a day prior to the wedding where every female in the wedding applies Mehandi which is considered as auspicious and enhances the celebration mood.

Mehandi symbolizes a sign of fertility in many cultures but generally, Mehandi symbolizes the love and affection of a husband for his wife. The darker the color of Mehandi, more deep is the love of the husband and her mother-in-law. This is the reason that it is applied almost on all the important occasions like Indian marriages, Karva Chauth, Rakhi, Teej and Diwali etc. Today, Mehandi ceremony has become a grand affair and is celebrated along with sangeet where some are dancing and singing on Dholak, these days DJ system have also become very popular and some are some are sitting and are applied Mehandi on their hands.

R for Rain Drop

~*Rain Drop*~
A Raindrop is born
  In a cloud
Like a pearl in an oyster.
Until it is too heavy
And falls out
Of its nest.
It bumps into other droplets
On its journey down.
Over and over again.
Gravity pulls the raindrop down
To strike water or earth
And one day it evaporates.

Q for Quatrefoil

 ~*Quatrefoil*~
(Quatrefoil:-four-petaled flower

A flower grew out of the ground
A tiny flower from the dirt
A tiny living soul from underground
A baby crawling from the dirt
A little innocence of wild color
A tiny spark of hope
A tiny pleasure free of charge
A flower that I called my own
A little baby ran towards it
A tiny flower crushed beneath the feet
A little human innocence
A little bliss destroyed by ignorance
A little flower dead on the ground
A little baby jumping up and down
And only me from my own window,
witnessed the death of my own flower
beneath the feet of blissful child without idea of his first crime

Picturesque

~*Picturesque*~

My life is like a butterfly
It’s changing everyday
Filled with many challenges
I face along the way
I started as a child
Loved and carefree
Not knowing who I’d become
Or how painful life would be
Now that I am older
I’ll be so special soon
Everything’s about to change
I’m breaking free from my cocoon.

N for Nosegay : bouquet of fragrant flowers

~*Nosegay*~

Flower, flower grow for me,
Become a flower from a seed,
Grow your roots and a stem,
Let the water come right in

Flower, flower you are true,

You make me happy when I am blue,
You became a flower from a seed,
You did all that just for me

Mystical

~*Mystical*~

Life is that ever lasting flower
The flower that is always in constant bloom
People are that dying powder
That cause the flower to slowly consume
People cause the flower to die
Just as fast as those bees fly
People don’t care about the flower
They just care about the nectar it brings
They care about the flowers sweet things
Only a few care to keep the flower in bloom
Only a few are worried when the flower is doomed
The flower is life that ever lasting thing
Life is something that is truly a blessing
Once you poor that powder on our flower
Life will descend and we will follow in a whirlpool of sorrow
Because life is that ever lasting flower
So treat our flower correct, and we may just see tomorrow
